Limitless 5 Drone Review

A Review of the Drone-Clone Xperts, Inc. Limitless 5 Drone

I placed an order for the Limitless 5 drone from Drone-Clone Xperts, Inc. on July 15, 2025. After placing the order, I downloaded the PDF version of the Quick Start Guide and User Manual from their website.

This drone was being advertised as having features that are normally found in more expensive drones, such as 360° Obstacle Avoidance, Built-in Remote ID, Bright LED Spotlight, Level 7 Wind Resistance, Waypoints Flying, just to name a few. And it was coming from a US based company. This last point was especially important considering the uncertain future of a major Chinese-based drone manufacturer in the US.

I had a question about how my Samsung S25 Ultra phone in a case would fit into the phone holder of the controller and submitted it through a form their website. I promptly received a reply. As it turns out, the phone is very tight with the case and fits better if the case is removed.

I received the drone and some extra accessories that I had ordered on July 17, 2025, and promptly unboxed the Limitless 5 and began charging the batteries and controller.

After I received the drone, I had a lot of additional questions and submitted them by replying to the support email I had previously received. A good dialog continued for 10 days. Then when I replied to their response of 7/27/2025 on 7/28/2025, that email (and those following) has remained unanswered.

Not sure about the "Excellent" reviews they boast of on their website.

The number of reviews is different, depending upon from what page you access their review count. That number ranges from 343 for the Limitless 5 camera drone (some of the reviews being 6 years old while the Limitless 5 was introduced in 2024) to the 1,076 reviews of the above image from their main "Our Reviews" page.

On the last page of their documentation, both electronic and hard copy, they offer from 3-5 free accessories for a 5-star review. I later found out that was only for when the drone was available for purchase through Amazon. That might be a reason for the high percentage of 5-star reviews. Due to the cost of doing business with Amazon, they were no longer selling them there.

As of September 9, 2025, Drone-Clone Xperts, Inc. no longer has a Facebook presence.

Other than those found on their own website, and a couple of "unboxing" videos on YouTube, there are no third-party reviews or instructional videos.

Drones used in comparison:  DJI Flip and Potensic Atom 2.

Stats from the Distance Testing:

  • Flight time on one battery - 22 minutes (from the Flight Record included in the app - minute estimation not provided on the flight screen). DJ Flip = 22:42 estimated at 92%. Potensic Atom 2 = 31:18 estimated at 99%.
  • Longest distance flown - 3,302 feet. DJ Flip - 5,047 feet. Potensic Atom 2 - 4,036 feet.

Pros:

  • US based company (hardware from Japan and Taiwan, not China)
  • High end features:  360° Obstacle Avoidance, Built-in Remote ID, Bright LED Spotlight, Level 7 Wind Resistance, Waypoints Flying, etc.
  • Flight time on one battery - 18-22 minutes (from the Flight Record included in the app - minute estimation not provided on the flight screen).
  • Physical hardware appears to be sturdy and well-constructed.

Cons:

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra in a case is an extremely tight fit in the controller phone holder.
  • The required positioning of the phone places the power and volume buttons up next against the controller, making them inaccessible and sometimes generating unwanted actions. While it would be possible to physically rotate the phone to where the buttons are located on the bottom, the supplied proprietary cable is not long enough to attach to the other side of the phone.
  • Batteries take 5-6 hours to recharge.
  • A controller with a built-in screen is not currently available.
  • The Limitless 5 software frequently freezes during flight. Example videos provided.
  • Video sometimes appears overexposed when you have bright areas in the viewing area. Example videos provided.

Overexposed conditions:

While I would love to put my support behind a US based drone company, I feel that at this current time I cannot recommend the purchase of the Limitless 5 drone from Drone-Clone Xperts, Inc. The state of the software and the current lack of support are the main reasons behind this decision.
