From Microsoft Copilot:
In the United States, aiding and providing assistance to a terrorist organization is a serious crime. Under **18 U.S. Code § 2339B**, it is illegal to knowingly provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization. This includes offering training, financial aid, personnel, or other forms of assistance. Penalties can include fines, imprisonment of up to 20 years, or even life imprisonment if the support results in someone's death.
The law is broad and has been used extensively in counterterrorism cases, even when the support provided was non-violent.
Wouldn't bringing those belonging to designated terrorist groups into the U.S. be in violation of this federal law? And wouldn't anyone fighting against the deportation of such individuals also be considered as "aiding and providing assistance to a terrorist organization"?
Just asking for a friend ...
